Pickerel Lake Cottage, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and Cross-country skiing

The Tombstone-Pickerel and surrounding snowmobile trails are open, we have been out on them and the trails are groomed and in good shape.   There are up to 18 inches of ice on Pickerel Lake, the fishing has been fairly good, one of our friends caught a 26 inch northern over the New Years weekend. The cottage is right on the lake so you can snowmobile right up to the cottage.  There is a good deal of information on cross country skiing.  I can be emailed at

For more information on the Langlade and Forest County trails, go to:

contact Allen Gresch at (715) 432-5371 for confirmation of exact dates.    Many dates are open in  January, February, March, April and May.

Available year-round for snowmobiling, icefishing and cross-country skiing in the winter and fishing, swimming and boating in the summer.  It is a beautiful 4 bedroom cottage with 2 decks and a fireplace.  Rental is $125 per night or a special rate per week.

Pickerel Lake is about 3.5 hours from Milwaukee and Madison  The Gresch cottage has a beautiful stone fireplace

We rent the cottage for $125 per night.  It is a 4 bedroom cottage, the lower bedrooms have double beds, the upstairs has a double in one room and 2 singles in the other room.   The kitchen and bathroom are modern, so it is more like a second home.  We use the cottage a fair bit, so there are many books and games there. It is fully furnished, microwave, full size fridge, electric range, dishes and a TV with a DVD/VHS player.  Channels aren't the greatest, but we don't go up to watch TV, we are too busy fishing and snowmobiling or hunting.  A second phone number is (715) 359-9688, we can be reached from 7-9PM central time.
